Palma de Mallorca, you can still swim with no suit close to November!

Octopus that wanna be famous!

His/her Bottle!

No, I won't take it off you...

Although creatures in their habitat tend to be possessive, no harm was made to the host =)

Nice fish...

Cala Llombards at the end of September

Beautiful jellyfish to have a picture with...

DONE. ...and now murenas...

Cala Llombards is found in the council of Santanyi.

Very easy access to one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches of Mallorca.

Great Snorkelling garanteed.

Maioris: Next to Sa Torre

Situated on Mallorca west coast you can find this area just past the airport in a marine reservoir. Many go there to do PADI courses for scuba.

Cala Llombards Underwater

Cala Llombards Underwater, water hiking at around 15 meters, great fauna and crystal clear water!

Next to Calo' des Moro and S'Almunia's areas.

Sole in Mallorca, Platja de Palma

A sole I was able to catch on camara today in Platja de Palma, between El Arenal and Palma city:

It got a huge fright... !!!

Check it out!

Cala Llombards

Hello people,

today I went to a great cala, Cala Llombards, it is located in the area of Santanyi and both caves and water crystal clear will leave you speechless. As I went with no fins, it took me a while to reach certain areas, but it was worth the effort.

This cave is situated just on the right of Cala Llombards, I arrived there first on foot climbing down very steep steps and after went off swimming, it took me around 10-15 minutes to reach again Cala Llombards.

Poor big fish was confused when I first saw it, it let me catch it with my hands and after swam away very badly... at about 10 or 15 metres underwater.

Crystal water let you see pretty much everything.

Sometimes... Mallorca 17.6.13... Does anyone know that fish?

Just in front of the big Playa de Palma, the very turistic beach, sometimes dirty and crowded, today I found some stingrays, soles, starfishes and a weird fish... if anyone of you knows its name, please let me know by commenting this post.

As you can see it's got blu-greenish wings and crab-like legs... do you know it?

In Sometimes, Palma de Mallorca.

Ansa de s'Estri

Ansa de s'Estri is found beside Cales de Mallorca, which is a small village that lives on the turism. The water over there is crystal clear, although to have a bath you need to climb down some rocks. Breathtaking view and just some miles away from Cala Barques - south-eastern part of the island.

Cycling in Mallorca!

When it comes to bike you have 2 options, either bring your own by plane or rent it.

Airlines like Ryanair, Vueling, Airberlin, ThomsonAirEuropa, BritishAirways etc... may be charging you around-ish 60 $ to check-in a bike for the flight. Better off you check terms and conditions of every airline you fly with, as some of them require to know you want to take your bike with you at least 2 months before departure.

Second option is more handy, you rent your bike! You may be renting bikes from 7 $ a day to 115 $ a day.
You can choose among a wide selection including race, trekking, road-fitness, city and mountain bikes.

Here is a list - short - of some rent-a-bike:

Berganti

Veska

Belori

For the laziest ones we have scooter rentals =)

What to do? Longboard!

On the north-west part of Mallorca island, you can find Palma de Mallorca city and from there to 16 miles south until El Arenal you have a wonderful segregated cycle facility which works perfectly for bikes, roller skates and blades, skateboards... and longboards!

We use a relatively cheap  Globe longboard, that is a fine and dandy skate!

Here is a short video my cousin and I did in veeery bad weather conditions:

Cheapest way to fly around Europe & get to Mallorca!

The cheapest way is ''to fly Ryanair!'':

1 - They have ridiculously low prices, even for 10 $ you can purchase a ticket - taxes included!
2 - You have a 10 Kg bag allowed in the cabin, for an extra ...
     ... 15/20 Kg to be checked-in is 15.46/25.76 $.
3 - But beware! They will charge you 50 $ at the boarding gate/check-in desk if:
      - You don't print your boarding pass yourself before the check-in desk...
      - Your bag is oversized and/or you bring a second bag at the boarding gate...

Food and drinks onboard are quite expensive - 4 $ for 1/2 l bottle of water, for example ...yet, nobody compels you to buy food onboard and not at the terminal. You can bring your own food from home, if you wanna keep it cheaper.
In Europe there are many other companies, but this one beat them all. So, go on Ryanair to fly to Mallorca!!!

Puig de Ros, scarce fishing day...

Puig de Ros is an easy area to fish, maybe not for immersions as it is not very deep - about 8/9 meters on top. It's got plenty of rocks to check below out and a few caves to go under and out.

It's not been a thriving fishing day, but we could sight a murena and some small groupers.

...and finally we found an octopus... only to small to be shot...

Walking and hiking in Costa Brava

The path from Platja d'Aro to Sant Antoni de Calonge...

The path offers many tunnels to walk in, besides that, if you dare, you can climb some rocks to have a wider view uphill of those set of reefs that gradually appear and fade out with the force of the waves.

This coastal path connects the large Platja d'Aro eastern beach to Torre Valentina beach in Calonge, named after the tower which once protected the farmhouse nearby.

Some areas in the path are carved in the very rocks, rounded off by erosion since time, in front of the forestland.

Two horizontal lines, one red and one white, mark the path, sometimes drawn up either on barks or rocks.
